Favorite Memory: Getting breakfast at that little pastry shop across the railroad tracks and across from the stadium, doing donuts in the school parking lot after a good snow (and then getting busted by the cops for reckless driving), the smell of autumn in MN reminding me of Homecoming and football games, all those conversations in the hallway we'd have with each other in the 5 minutes we had between classes, Ski Club on the weekends at Wild Mountain and Afton Alps with Amanda Brink, Heidi Minshall, Tom May, Brandon Gallagher, etc., I could write a whole page about the good ones.
Bad Memory: Getting into a car accident on my way to the Senior Prom and then that horrible storm we had on Lake Minnetonka that night (bitter sweet memory I guess).

Hell I've enjoyed drinks on the beaches of over twenty different countries in the last nine years, everywhere from Spain to Thailand, from Germany to Austria, even Iraq a few times, not to mention visiting over 40 of our own 50 states. So I guess all of my travels would have to be the most memorable of my accomplishments.

Favorite Memory: Stacking up our roster with Paul Schoenike and Ryan Wilson en route to winning the 1996 Minneapolis Jewish youth league basketball title.
Bad Memory: I would have gone with my brief career on the SLP football team, but I think that falls more under the category of nightmare than bad memory. The only good news on that front is most people now can't distinguish between me and my little brother, who unlike me only managed to make the Sun Sailor when being praised. I would also say that after several recent visits to France, not paying much attention in Madam Brindley's class has come back to haunt me. Worst memory, however, is probably being unable to attend the 10-year reunion. I was hoping to make it back home from London for this, but unfortunately the timing just didn't work out. Hopefully I'll cross paths with some of you somewhere down the road.
Accomplishments: Had 4 (plus...) quality years at UW-Madison (with a 6-month stint in Israel) before landing in Chicago. Loved Chicago in every aspect, but decided about 1 year ago to move on and explore new opportunities in London. The decision has paid off as I have already been able to travel either for work or vacation to much of Europe and Asia (I'm expecting to have hit every country in Europe by the end of '07), and I am by far the most obnoxious T-Wolf fan on this side of the pond. I have transformed into a bit of a health nut as of late and I am currently training for my first marathon in November in Marathon, Greece. Please shoot me an email if you ever find your way to these parts and I'll buy you a pint. Feel free to shoot an email if you don't find you way over here as well.

Favorite Memory: Cruising around Lake Calhoun with Jenny Pietz while listening to "the beasties", developing many life-long friendships, and realizing I am really a gypsy at heart and deciding to be an exchange student our senior year (to Sweden) which lead to my nomadic tendencies in the years that followed.
Bad Memory: The entire 10th grade volleyball team not being promoted to JV our junior year and being told by the Head Coach that we could all be "managers" if we wanted to and that she would "letter" us all if we really wanted the letter jacket. We all rallied together and told her where she could put her letter jacket! Although it sucked at the time, it bonded us "benchers (as we call ourselves)" for life.
Accomplishments: Living a life that is consistent with my values and who I want to be. I feel free to be who I am without reservation, in part I have a loving and supportive husband to thank for that because through his love I have learned more about myself and what is truly important to me. Sitting in the sun waiting for the bus to pick us up from VoTech and stopping at Burger King (Rockford Road, Robert!) on the way back to school. Certain people who were "constant" and that I consider myself lucky to have had in my life at that point.
Bad Memory: Being so afraid of everything that I missed out on a lot. Too scared to make changes, try anything different, meet new people or voice my opinion. But I'm working on it.
Accomplishments: My two gorgeous little boys. Buying a house before I could legally buy a beer. Being a relatively decent person (Or at least I hope so). I'm very much looking forward to seeing my classmates again and finding out what everyone's doing. I can't wait to see everybody's kids at the picnic (OMG we have kids now!) And there are a couple of people who I'd like to thank for just always being there, so I hope everybody shows up!

Bad Memory: How much space do I have? For starters: Mr. Divinski making me cry. Every PE class. Mrs. Callahan playing Carpenters records before every synchro meet. Mrs. Callahan making all the girls weigh-in before meets. Being scared of Mrs. Callahan. Getting hit in my first car by a nun running a red light near Lake Calhoun. Tennis matches (we sucked).
Accomplishments: Getting over Mrs. Callahan. Traveling abroad whenever I can. Finding love with a boy and a dog. Making new friends and catching up with old ones (love seeing what you all are up to!) John Kamp
johnbkamp@yahoo.com
Occupation: I work for the government, for the big bad City of Los Angeles, as an urban planner/designer, trying to make LA more walkable/bikable. Yes, you may laugh; I do too sometimes.
Married: Not
Kids: No little ones. I will be an uncle soon though.
Degree: B.A. in Sociology, Wesleyan University; M.A. in Urban Planning and Urban Design, UCLA.
Favorite Memory: I second the square dancing remark. Good wholesome fun! Also, waltzing was a hoot. Mary J-S and I tried to add some sass to our waltz by combining it with the lambada and the electric slide, but we always wound up getting scolded by that gym teacher with the big finger...whose name I can't remember. I also appreciated soccer in the snow with shorts on, painting a wall mural that said "zero cut" in -30 weather in March; fall colors (which I haven't seen in three years), and homemade letter-signs at pep rallys, which spelled choice phrases like "Mushy goo" and "Long Duck Dong." Ten dollars to anyone who knows which choice films from the '80s those reference.
Bad Memory: Honestly, I generally had a hoot from 7:30 until 2:30, although one time that twit teacher Mr. Linne almost made me cry for speaking up for our bovine friends. He also pronounced "absurd" with a "z," like it was the supposed dignified way of saying it. Two demerits for him. I did get sent to Room 204 one time for humming in Mr. Gunness's English class, but that was in jr. high, which I guess doesn't count.
Accomplishments: I've learned completely impractical languages such as Russian and Hungarian; I still don't own a car but live in Los Angeles; I DJ and am making my own electronic music and have two live DJ sets on cd available (see crappy website); got meself a masters degree (not recommended); worked as the trainings director for the student-run arm of the Sierra Club for three years (good times); don't lecture/guilt people about the environment anymore (sorry, Mary J-S); have gotten a few articles published (see The Next American City); am completely less uptight than I ever was in high school, or college for that matter (see johnkampdj.blogspot.com for details about upcoming par-tays); still figuring out how to live in Hungary for a year. Write me with suggestions. Sorry I will be in LA and will miss el reunion. xoxo Johnnycakes

Patty Keller (Joyce)
pjoycekeller@gmail.com
Occupation: I am transitioning from being a Postdoc at UNC in Radiation Oncology to being a Postdoc at Tufts/New England Medical Center at the Molecular Oncology Research Institute in Boston, MA (we are moving the last week of August so I won't see you all at the reunion). My research area is in breast cancer: learning more about its development and progression and the interaction of cancerous cells with surrounding 'normal' tissue (yes, I am still a science nerd).
Married: Married to Matt Keller
Kids: One (canine), a Springer Spaniel named George, age 3.5; no human children at this point.
Degree: B.S. in Biochemistry and B.S. in Molecular Biology, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Ph.D. in Pharmacology, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
Favorite Memory: Oddly, the secret rush of getting my math homework done over lunch in the Math Resource Center with Mary and Shannon (if only those lessons in the joy of non-procrastination had stuck with me). Also, of course, sports-swimming, synchro, XC-skiing, and my ill-fated attempts at track, especially all the great people on the teams (not necessarily practice)!
Bad Memory: Those evil stair-jumping drills we had to do for swim practice. Was it really necessary to have us in our suits and ripped nylons jumping on the stairs while the football team runs out to practice? Really? Also 6 AM practice on Mondays when the hot water in the showers would not be on yet. Otherwise, it has mostly faded away.
Accomplishments: Finding happiness with my best friend, Matt and going to Iceland for our honeymoon. Becoming a decent home cook (my passion besides science). Getting used to the South and looking forward to getting used to the Northeast (I miss the snow, actually). Surviving grad school and my dissertation defense, getting published. Raising my fur-baby George to be a Canine Good Citizen.

Bad Memory: Wearing XL flannel shirts that went down to my knees
Accomplishments: This question makes me wonder what I've been doing all these years. Is it really 10?? I've been traveling with friends and family, loosening up a great deal, finding creative outlets beyond my corporate job and attending a gazillion Wilco concerts. I'm enjoying my career but I guess a highlight is convincing the firm to bankroll my move to Manhattan for entirely non-career reasons (a.k.a., Will).

Favorite Memory: Oh, there were plenty. Cross-country was always a great way to start the school year. But I'd say my favorite was during junior year, when The Saltines won the Battle of the Bands. It felt like a great taste of things to come!
Bad Memory: Also plenty...quite a confusing time of life.
Accomplishments: Meeting the love of my life, making a living making music and pursuing other creative endeavors, having a great network of friends and family in Minneapolis and St. Louis, and just staying the course. This journey's not over yet!

Favorite Memory: The moment I stumbled upon the whole football team trying to paint the shed by the track before the homecoming game. I had nothing but a conga drum and a package of rolling tobacco. I was intimidated being that Boze was my only friend there. They asked for my help being the outspoken artist type. I helped, and hung out with those fools all night. I then realized that we are all a lot more alike than we are different.
Bad Memory: That big asshole cop that was supposedly a pro linebacker, who looked at me like he'd happily disembowl me if sanctioned by the powers that be.
Accomplishments: I've lost thousands of dollars, throwing shows, touring, recording records, running my own after hours nightclub, throwing my own music/camping festival, right here in the "real" world, and I've still only spent half the money most of ya'll spent on college. Ha ha. Suckaz! Seriously though, I've put out 8 records, featured on Matisyahu's debut gold record (I have the plaque and everything) Toured with and opened for some of my great musical influences, helped to found a sucessful art promotions company, and I'm about to put out the best record I've made, my true solo debut, which already has an international distribution deal on the table, and I haven't even begun recording it yet. I fell in and out of love, triumphed over adversity, and brought some joy to those who circumstancially or by choice share my world. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you. Don't be shy, come say hello alright?
